Boot Camps Information

Boot camps essentially training camps. The term 'boot camp' is derived from the grueling footwear that is provided to boot camp trainees in the military. Boot camps last for a couple of weeks and are specifically designed for special purposes.

The original boot camps are military boot camps. All branches of the armed forces have boot camps including the army, marines, coast guard, navy and air force. Boot camps for the military train their recruits in physical strength, weapon use, technical and theoretical knowledge, comradeship, leadership and discipline among many other code value. The actual effect of boot camps is more mental than physical. Trainees are deprived of sleep, food and communication and made to live in extremely unfavorable conditions to test how far they can push themselves.

Boot camps are also increasingly designed for juvenile offenders. These troubled teens live and serve in boot camps, while they are given training on how to live better in society. They are also taught some professional skills. Parents with problem children often send them to juvenile boot camps.

Today boot camps have become more of a fad. There are boot camps for almost every aspect of social life. Boot camps even exist for brides and for would-be parents. Here the emphasis is on how to improve their situation for incoming responsibilities. Fitness boot camps are becoming the latest craze. People don't have to live in such boot camps - classes are conducted for just a few hours a week.

Prepare For Boot Camp

Boot camps are private or government-owned correctional facilities where people are sent in the hope that they will mend their erroneous ways.A boot camp is designed with the basic concept of military training camps, with a lot of emphasis on physical labor. The concept of guilt is maximized with psychological tools such as humiliation, degrading rhetoric and building a fear for authority.Boots camps were first introduced in the states of Georgia and Oklahoma and have become an enduring feature of United States justice. In the United States, depending on the court sentence, even a sentence of ten years can be exchanged for three months in a boot camp. Moreover, once juveniles have been sentenced with a term in a boot camp, their only way out of it is to go to jail. In recent years, boot camps have evolved and now most provide educational and recreational facilities along with vocational training and counseling. Special arrangements are also made for the rehabilitation of substance abusers.

Joining The Marines - Get Ready For Boot Camp

The first and most important thing to do is get in shape. You cannot afford to show up sloppy, overweight, and out of shape.

What you need to do is focus on three exercises.

Running. Marines run, a lot. So, before leaving for boot camp give yourself a head start and run. The best type of training will work you up to a three mile run starts with simple intervals.
Pull Ups. Pull ups are a graded event in the Corps. You must be able to do as many as possible. There are two ways to do pull-ups. You can have your palms outboard (away from your face) or inboard (towards your face).
Crunches are another graded event. Any abdominal workout will help you. Your recruiter will demonstrate perfect form if you ask him. The key is to be able to do them quickly and efficiently for a minimum of two minutes non-stop without keeling over.

Boot Camp Training Tips: It's Not A Military School For Boys

The following smart tips will help stay in a good shape when joining the boot camp and eventually pass.

Stay Focused
Remember in the boot camp it's not all about physical. Actually it's 10% physical and 90% mental. Do not give in to the temptation to give up
Remember Who Makes The Rules
In your case as a new recruit, your drill instructor makes the rules. Do not try to argue with your instructor. Even if you are right you cannot and will not win.
All For One And One For All
The drill instructor will do his/her best to make all of you recruits think and act as a team. Leave your ego outside the boot camp.
Do Not Volunteer
You have to be careful when volunteering for certain tasks. You may be rewarded but you will find yourself responsible not only for your performance but for the performance of others next to you.
There Is A Purpose For Everything
And indeed that is true. There is a purpose for everything happening during boot camp training. Even if a task seems completely stupid or useless be sure that this is not the case.
